Burberry has apologized for displaying a hooded sweatshirt with strings tied in the shape of a noose around the model's neck as part of the 2019 Autumn/Winter collection at London Fashion Week. The fashion brand was criticized by one of its models, Liz Kennedy, saying that she was “ashamed” to have been part of the designer’s show, adding that she has been personally provoked because of a suicide experience in her family.
New change is officially underway at Burberry. On Thursday, Riccardo Tisci unveiled the British heritage brand's new logo and red-and-honey monogram designed by Peter Saville — in only four weeks, per their email correspondence. The new visuals are inspired by Tisci's visit to the Burberry archives, where he found a logo from 1908 and a Thomas Burberry monogram.
