Head of the Kataeb's Economic and Social Council Jean Tawile on Tuesday stressed that the real achievement that was made in the government's electricity plan is that it didn't include any new power barges rental, noting, however, that it lacks two basic points.
Power barges deal
The third power-generating barge provided by Turkish Karadeniz company, as part of its free three-month deal with the Lebanese government, docked off the Zouk Mikael coast on Monday.
The power-generating barge, which was deployed to Lebanon as part of the Energy Ministry's plan to help the long-ailing power sector, was prevented from entering the premises of the Jiyeh power plant where it was supposed to dock. According to the National News Agency, competent authorities informed the vessel crew that no permit has been granted for the barge to access the plant.
