NASA Probe Gets Closer to the Sun Than Any Spacecraft in History

A NASA probe has boldly gone where no spacecraft has gone before by flying to within a record distance of the sun. Less than three months after lift-off, the Parker Solar Probe has managed to get within 15 million miles of the surface of the star. As far away as that sounds (approximately 600 trips around the world), it is the closest any vessel has ever gotten to the sun.

Earth Has Two Extra, Hidden 'Moons'

Earth’s moon may not be alone. After more than half a century of speculation and controversy, Hungarian astronomers and physicists say they have finally confirmed the existence of two Earth-orbiting “moons” entirely made of dust. As they describe in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, the team managed to capture snapshots of the mysterious clouds lurking just 250,000 miles away, roughly the same distance as the moon.
