Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri on Monday presented a draft government line-up to President Michel Aoun, saying that he believes it meets the target of forming a national unity Cabinet.
"I submitted to President Aoun the line-up of a national unity government in which all local factions make concessions," Hariri told reporters following his meeting with Aoun at the Baabda Palace.
"It is a formula in which no one prevails over the other," he added.
Hariri affirmed that he did not discuss the proposed line-up with any of the political forces, noting, however, that he got inspired by the demands and ideas he had heard from each of them.
"No one other than President Aoun and me knows what the formula consists of. I didn't discuss it with anyone else," he stated.
Shortly before his meeting in Baabda, the PM-designate met with the Free Patriotic Movement chief Gebran Bassil at the Center House.
Hariri also pointed out that he didn't confer with Aoun over the names of potential ministers, adding that the suggested line-up is pending the president's approval.
