MP Elias Hankache on Wednesday warned that the Lebanese economy is at risk, blaming the actions of the ruling authority. "You approved the salary scale law, then you admitted that it was a mistake that you can back down on. You are unable to reduce the interest rates on bank deposits because your are benefitting from them. You won't impose new taxes because people will not forgive you this time," Hankache wrote on twitter.
Kataeb lawmakers on Thursday marked the 14th anniversary of the Cedar Revolution, vowing unwavering commitment to the values that the event of the March 14, 2005, embodied.
Following his election as member of the Higher Council, tasked with trying presidents and ministers, MP Elias Hankache said that the Kataeb party is planning to submit a draft law proposing an amendment of the voting mechanism adopted by said body.
